Reason #597 not to wait until the last day of a sale to get the pair of UGGs you have been dying to have: They WILL be out of your size.
I gotta tell you, I was really looking forward to getting a pair of the grey 'Mayfaire' UGGs all week long but my week ended up being a crazy one. So, as you can guess, yesterday was the first day I could get to the Nordstorm Anniversary Sale to get my boots. Not only was it a madhouse there crawling with people clawing for a sale (reason #383), but they were sold out of my incredibly average size 8. Luckily, I had the shoe department manager on my side and he gave me a "raincheck" to hand in to receive the anniversary sale price on the UGGs when they are restocked...which won't be until September or October!! I didn't know I could "raincheck" the price. Have you ever done that? Basically, they were out of my size in their entire inventory (online, other stores, etc.) but they will still honor my request for that pair at that price, as long as I show the little card that the manager wrote out for me with all the details. I like that kind of service1 And considering I won't be wearing my UGGs until then anyway, I am ok with it. And I am glad I learned about this raincheck thing. Have you ever rainchecked an item? Have you ever had any trouble with it when you went to retrieve it down the line? I'm new to this!- Buttercup
PS - Guess who I spotted in the madhouse, looking for shoes? None other than the Scream Queen, Mary Murphy! Guess mama needs a new pair of shoes for the big finale this week!
PPS - Mary is a judge on So You Think You Can Dance, for all of you non-SYTYCD watchers reading.
PPPS - Why aren't you watching SYTYCD???

I watched the first season of SYTYCD, but didn't care for it. Wasn't Mary Murphy really serious and kind of a beeyotch the first season? I see clips of her on the Soup now and she's totally changed.
Interesting! I just jumped on the SYTYCD train two seasons ago, so I missed the first one. They had a different host then and I had no idea that Mary's persona had changed! She can be a bit much for me at times, especially when she starts screaming about the hot tamale train, but her critiques are usually insightful. It might be worth giving a second go if you like dance - I'm amazed every week with what these dancers can do! - B
